I got onto my wordpress and starting this blog site. I am a passionate learner. I love taking in new information and trying new things. I excited to become the person ive always pictured myself as. I love growing and learning and adding to my repertoire to find where i belong in this world.
So currently i am reading the Art of Fermentation by Sandor Katz and i highly recommend. I have had more “Aha” moments reading this book. Katz writes it so simply and based around a cultural revival to take back our food, that reading it im like how have we ever veered from this lifestyle. Of course because now we have refrigeration but i feel like somehow in our tvs dinner era we lost the passing down of this beautifully simple yet so crucial art of fermenting food and drinks and then some. So i will be part of this cultural revival and will ferment.
Currently i make kombucha, sourdough, saurkraut, apple cider vinegar. i do love the flavor of kimchi so i will be grabbing some gochu peppers at the asian market soon to be adding to my krautchi, as katz calls it. Currently i have flanigan farms kimchi style kraut and it was delish. Grabbed right at walmart.
i have a ginger bug going that i did let over fement into alcohol so we started again. And will be making more probiotic sodas soon. So delish and great for your gut. And can customize to any flavors you want. Thus far i did gingerale and cranberry ginger. I will be trying a super ginger next i think.
i will be making posts to lay out all of my procedures, supplies etc.
